Meta Business Verification Rejected in India? Fixes That Work
By Aryan Ahire, Founder — Free Mind Consultancy
Meta Business verification fails most often for avoidable reasons — a name that doesn't quite match across documents, the wrong document type, or a blurry scan — not because the business itself is somehow ineligible. Here's what actually causes rejections for Indian businesses, which documents genuinely pass, and how to resubmit so it works the second time.
Why Meta Rejects Business Verification — the Real Reasons
Most rejections trace back to a mismatch or a wrong document type, not to anything disqualifying about the business itself:
- Business name mismatch. The name entered in Business Manager has to match the name on your submitted document exactly — including legal suffixes like "Private Limited" or "LLP." A document that says "Acme Technologies Pvt. Ltd." won't pass verification for a Business Manager account registered as "Acme Technologies."
- Address mismatch. The business address in Business Manager needs to match the registered address on the document. A home address used for setup but a different registered office on the GST certificate is a common, avoidable mismatch.
- Wrong document type. A personal Aadhaar card or PAN card isn't a business verification document — Meta needs proof the business entity exists, not proof of the individual.
- Poor scan quality. Blurry photos, glare, cropped edges, or documents with obscured text get rejected even when the underlying document is otherwise valid.
- No matching public presence. Meta often cross-checks against a live website or public listing. A domain that's parked, under construction, or shows a different business name than what's submitted raises a flag.
Documents That Actually Pass for Indian Businesses
For a registered business in India, any one of these is generally accepted, as long as the business name and address match Business Manager exactly:
- GST registration certificate — the most commonly accepted document for GST-registered businesses.
- Udyam (MSME) registration certificate — for businesses registered under India's MSME scheme.
- Certificate of Incorporation (CIN) — for private limited companies and LLPs registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
- Shop and Establishment license — issued by the relevant state authority for many small businesses and service providers.
- Partnership Deed — for registered partnership firms.
How to Resubmit Correctly
- Fix the mismatch first, don't just resubmit the same document. If the rejection reason mentions a name or address mismatch, update Business Manager's business details to match your document exactly (or get a document that matches what's already in Business Manager) before trying again.
- Check your own account's actual wait time. Meta shows a specific waiting period before resubmission directly in your Business Manager's verification status — this isn't a fixed number published anywhere reliable, and it can change, so check your own account rather than assuming a duration from a forum post or an old guide.
- Make sure your website is live and matches. If Meta is cross-checking a domain, confirm it's actually live (not parked or under construction) and visibly shows the same business name you're submitting.
- Re-scan the document properly. Flat surface, good lighting, no glare, all four corners visible, text legible when zoomed in.
- If it's rejected repeatedly with no clear reason, Meta's Business Help Center has a support path for unresolved verification issues — use it once you've ruled out the common mismatches above, not as a first step.

Why does Meta reject business verification in India?
Most often: the business name on your documents doesn't exactly match Business Manager, the address doesn't match, the document is a personal ID instead of a business document, the scan is blurry or has glare, or there's no live, matching website Meta can cross-check.
What documents does Meta accept for business verification in India?
A GST registration certificate, Udyam (MSME) registration, Certificate of Incorporation (CIN), Shop and Establishment license, or a Partnership Deed — whichever applies to your business type, as long as the name and address match Business Manager exactly.
How long do I have to wait before resubmitting after a rejection?
Meta enforces a waiting period, shown directly in your own Business Manager's verification status page. It isn't a fixed, published number and can vary — check your own account rather than assuming a duration from elsewhere.
Can Free Mind guarantee my business gets verified?
No. Verification is Meta's decision, based on a review process we don't control. We help prepare the documentation correctly and remove avoidable rejection reasons — we can't guarantee the outcome, and no credible agency can.
